Customer Service

Sales and customer service staff

Friendly, knowledgeable sales and service assistant required to inform new and experienced bicycle users' decisions on bicycle parts, accessories, service and use. Works with other service staff, industry reps and store managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet, inform and help customers
  • Share product features and benefits knowledge with customers
  • Help with minor/fast bicycle repairs
  • Direct technical enquiries to appropriate staff when necessary
  • Process service work orders neatly and accurately
  • Ring in sales and returns in point-of-sale terminals
  • Receive, document and process incoming shipment orders
  • Price and display new merchandise
  • Other related tasks as required


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have:

  • 3+ years experience as a bicycle customer assistant, or equivalent
  • Experience as a cyclist and/or with the cycling community
  • Genuine passion for cycling and working with people
  • Friendly, non-intimidating, helpful attitude
  • Ability to share bicycle knowledge in plain language
  • Good work habits, punctuality, and attention to details
  • Organized, flexible, and responsible
  • References from previous employers

Good to have:

  • Experience in other sales and service environments
  • Basic bicycle mechanical abilities
  • Familiarity with bicycle industry brands and products
  • Computer and point-of-sale experience
  • Reliable transportation

TERM: Part-time/full-time
WORK SCHEDULE: Days, up to 40 hours/week, flex-schedule
SALARY/BENEFITS: $9 to $15/hour, depending on experience. Staff discounts and bonus.
